Calling all public plant science programs: Let us highlight the impact of your work!

Innovative Plant Breeding Programs Shine at Seed World Canada’s Public Sector Plant Science Showcase

Seed World Canada is currently seeking out plant breeding programs that are making significant advancements in the Canadian seed industry. The Public Sector Plant Science Showcase will highlight innovative thinking, technological advancements, and creative efforts that are driving the industry forward. If your research program is contributing to advancing the seed sector, we encourage you to submit your work for consideration.

To be recognized in our July issue, your program must meet certain criteria, including novelty of research, impact on sustainability, and scientific innovation. The novelty of research criterion looks for work that introduces new concepts or technologies to the market and sets it apart from competitors. Impact on sustainability evaluates how the research positively affects the environment, supports sustainable farming practices, and reduces the agriculture industry’s carbon footprint. Scientific innovation reviews cutting-edge research and development of a program, focusing on its significant impact on the agriculture industry.

Seed World Canada aims to celebrate the diverse work being done in plant science and breeding across Canada by acknowledging every qualifying submission. However, only the Top 3 winners will be selected based on these criteria. These winners will be chosen by Seed World Canada’s editorial board and will have a platform to showcase their leading advancements in the Canadian seed sector. So if you believe your program meets these criteria, don’t hesitate to submit it today!
