1,600 Customers Fall Victim to Hacking Scheme by Payback Fraudsters

A group of individuals from southern Germany has been charged with commercial computer fraud in a massive payback scam that resulted in the theft of almost 90,000 euros. The main perpetrators are a married couple and their son from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. They allegedly accessed hacked Payback accounts on the Darknet and used voucher cards in stores to transfer the equivalent of the Payback points to their bank accounts. The son has been placed in custody due to his criminal history, while the other defendants remain silent regarding the allegations.
