Free Lunch Workshop on Business Leadership for Climate Change on Wednesday.

Green Business Certification: How to Become a Leader in Sustainability in Colorado’s Yampa Valley

Nonprofit Yampa Valley Sustainability Council and the Steamboat Springs Chamber are hosting a “Business Leadership for Climate” workshop, which is open to business and organizational representatives. The free workshop will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Routt County Health and Human Services Community Room (135 Sixth St.) in downtown Steamboat Springs.

The second workshop in the series will outline the programs of the Colorado Green Business Network of the Yampa Valley, which is part of the overall Colorado Green Business Network. The workshop will focus on state-level recognition, including how to navigate the recognition application process and discover strategies to accumulate points toward certification. By becoming certified, businesses can distinguish themselves as leaders in sustainability and align with the growing consumer demand for eco-conscious products and services.

Lunch will be provided courtesy of Hypnotic Chicken with energy bars from Bar-U-Eat. The event is open to the public but registration is required at YVSC.org/yvsc-events. This nonprofit organization launched in summer 2022 as a free, technical assistance, and environmental recognition program that aims to promote sustainable practices among local businesses in the Yampa Valley region of Colorado.
