Germany’s High School Dropout Rate: A Concern for the Future of EU Education

Germany recorded a school dropout rate of more than twelve percent in 2022, making it the fourth highest in the European Union. This data was released by Eurostat, the European statistics authority. Romania had the highest dropout rate at 15.6%, followed by Spain at 13.9% and Hungary at 12.4%. Despite an improvement of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous year, Germany’s dropout rate remains high compared to other EU countries.
