Georgia’s softball team had a dominant 10-1 victory over Kennesaw State. The Bulldogs scored nine runs in the first two innings, nearly doubling their previous game’s total of four runs and five hits. The home run by Madison Kearney started the scoring spree, with Sydney Chambley and Sara Mosley also hitting home runs in the game.
Despite an error by a fielder that allowed Kennesaw State to score in the first inning, Georgia’s pitching staff performed well. Shelby Walters earned the win after pitching for two innings, allowing three hits and striking out two batters. In total, four pitchers were used by the Bulldogs, who only allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five batters.
The game showcased Georgia’s deep roster, with 15 players seeing playing time compared to only eight for Kennesaw State. After a successful away stretch, Georgia will return home to face No. 20 Arkansas in their upcoming SEC series on Saturday, March 30th at noon.
