Jed York set to become the primary owner of the 49ers

From York to Owner: Jed’s Rise to the Top as 49ers Principal Owner

Jed York, at 43 years old, has been the CEO of the San Francisco 49ers since 2010. This week, he is set to become the principal owner of the team after acquiring sufficient equity from his mother, Denise DeBartolo York. This move will solidify his position as the team’s owner and give him control over its operations. The league is expected to approve this change in ownership soon.

Under York’s leadership, the 49ers have seen success under the coaching of Kyle Shanahan since 2017. They have made two Super Bowl appearances and four playoff appearances in total. Despite not achieving the same level of success as his uncle, who oversaw five Super Bowl victories for the team, York has led the 49ers to three Super Bowls, albeit without winning any.

This new chapter in the team’s history represents a potential for continued success under York’s guidance. He will remain in charge until he chooses to sell the team, step down or until his tenure comes to an end.
