From Football Field to Fighting Hunger: Donna Kelce’s Chocolate Chip Cookies Make a Difference

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, is a well-known figure in her own right, famous for her chocolate chip cookies. According to People, Donna discovered a mug that caught her eye while shopping online and purchased 20 of them as Christmas gifts for loved ones.

These mugs are no ordinary mugs – they contain the entire recipe and directions for Donna’s famous cookie recipe and sell for about $18. The mugs were created by a small business in the Kansas City area called Annie’s Barn, and with each mug sold, $5 goes towards paying off elementary school lunch debt.

After the mug caught Donna’s attention, Annie Stowe, owner of Annie’s Barn, approached her with a request to donate her cookie recipe to the project. The mugs sold enough to pay off roughly $2,000 in lunch debt at a school in the Kansas City area within two weeks.

Despite Stowe’s efforts to reach out to Donna Kelce about delivering checks to the schools where the lunch debt was paid off, she has not yet responded. Stowe plans to deliver checks to Pawnee Elementary in Overland Park and two schools in Olathe.

Donna Kelce became famous for her cookies after making some for her sons Travis and Jason before their Super Bowl game earlier this year. The cookies are unique because they are flat and more like toffee cookies – a feature that was confirmed by Donna herself when she reached out to Stowe about the project.

Sports fans interested in supporting this cause can visit Annie’s Barn’s website and purchase a “Mama Kelce” mug. Not only will they get a delicious cookie recipe, but they will also be contributing towards paying off school lunch debt for children who need it most.
