Square Enix has released a demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5. The demo offers players the chance to experience the opening chapter of one of the most anticipated games of 2024. It will be divided into two parts, with the second section coming out on February 21st, giving players a sneak peek at the expansive game world before the official launch on February 29th.
During the State of Play presentation, Sony Interactive Entertainment also unveiled the final trailer for the game, which provides an overview of the plot and characters, including Sephiroth’s mission to chase him and save the planet. The trailer also showcases new locations, minigames and returns familiar characters. A new battle system has been introduced that combines real-time action with strategic controls.
The “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim” demo includes an extensive flashback section that allows players to relive a crucial story mission set five years before the main events of the game. On February 21st, it will be updated with a new section titled “Dawn of a New Era in Junon,” providing additional exploration and combat possibilities. However, progress made in this section will not be transferable to the full game while steps present in the first demo can be skipped in the full game.
