Via Fort Dodge’s DECA system Ashlyn Headlee has discovered firsthand company information.
For the second straight year the Fort Dodge Senior Higher senior has been awarded the major prize and will attend the International Profession Improvement Conference.
“I’m super proud of her,” mentioned DECA advisor Amy Jaeschke. “She earned very first spot final year and this will be her second trip to nationals.
“I’m proud of her commitment.”
Headlee and 4 other FDSH students competed at the DECA State Profession Improvement Conference at Southeast Polk Higher College.
Final year Headlee earned very first spot and attended a trip with two other Dodgers in Georgia. Her very first spot this year earned her a trip to Orlando, Florida, April 22 via April 25.
“Last year I went to Georgia with two other competitors from Fort Dodge Senior Higher,” Headlee mentioned. “It was super entertaining and a wonderful knowledge. I met new persons and had new experiences.
“This year I anticipate to have a further trip exactly where I will meet far more persons as properly as knowledge new points.”
This year Headlee place collectively a presentation on cat meals.
“This year I was nervous about competitors so I decided to do two events,” Headlee mentioned. “My presentation was about a cat meals brand known as Nulo and I advised techniques they could attain far more demographics and how considerably it would price.”
DECA is a profession and technical education student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for college and careers.
Also competing for Fort Dodge had been Olivia Hamlow, Trusha Bhatt, Liberty Huffman and Gabriella Santana-Bass.
Headlee was also named the Most Outstanding Promoting Chapter Member for FDSH.
Bhatt earned honorable mention in Entrepreneurship and Hamlow was also an honorable mention choice in Individual Economic Literacy.
“I’m proud of all of our students who competed at the state level,” Jaeschke mentioned. “They worked truly challenging preparing for the competitors and it showed.
“They represented themselves and our college properly.”
In addition to competing, the students heard from a speaker from the University of Iowa’s College
of Enterprise, attended a leadership session facilitated by the University of Northern Iowa and
voted for state officers.
“It’s sort of funny, they didn’t believe they did as properly as they did,” Jaeschke mentioned. “They had been shocked when they had been on stage.
“I do not believe they realized how excellent their presentations in fact had been.”
