Empowering Seniors through Technology: El Paso’s Health Week Initiative

The El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH) is hosting a technology and innovation event at the Fabens Senior Center as part of their Health Week initiative. The aim of the event is to provide educational topics on new technology tools that can help seniors use their cell phones for health-related purposes.

The session will feature eight educators who will be available to assist and answer any questions. Rosalyn Negron, a public health education and prevention specialist with the City of El Paso, emphasized the importance of raising awareness and providing access to technology features for the older generation.

The event will be divided into two groups – one for seniors with iOS phones and one for those without Apple phones. It is set to kick off at 10:00 a.m. at the Fabens Senior Center, offering valuable information and resources to help reduce health disparities in El Paso communities.

Funded by the DPH’s CDC Health Equity Grant, the event is part of the department’s effort to cover the entire El Paso County and provide valuable resources and classes for the community. More information and resources available can be found on the DPH website.
