The EU should assist Eastern Finland, as per logical reasoning

Eastern Finland Faces Economic and Security Challenges: A Call for Immediate Action and EU Support

In the face of public finance challenges and the impact of the Russian war of aggression on Eastern Finland, there is a strong desire and faith among the region’s companies to succeed. However, the situation requires immediate action from both public authorities and private sector leaders.

To address these challenges, the Finnish Confederation of Business and Industry (EK) has proposed a list of recommendations for stimulating economic growth and vitality in Eastern Finland. Among these recommendations is the designation of Eastern Finland as a special economic zone to promote business activities and accelerate economic growth in the region.

The chairman of EK, Harry Broman, emphasizes that Eastern Finland faces serious challenges that require immediate attention from public authorities. The proposed special economic zone aims to create a healthy growing economy in Eastern Finland that will contribute to the overall GDP of the country.

To achieve this goal, collaboration with neighboring countries and EU support will be necessary. Investments in energy, green transition, improved air connections, tourism, broadband infrastructure, and support for company growth are all part of the proposed plan. This plan aims to address the economic challenges faced by Eastern Finland while paving the way for sustainable growth and prosperity.

Given the current situation in Eastern Finland, which includes both economic and security concerns, it is essential for EU support similar to what was provided during the corona crisis. The implementation of this plan requires cooperation from all stakeholders involved, including public authorities, neighboring countries
