Famous ski and snowboard manufacturer files for bankruptcy

Determined to Survive: Antero GmbH’s Plan to Continue Operations Amid Financial Difficulties

In a recent announcement, KSV1870 reported that Antero GmbH, the debtor in question, intends to continue operations despite facing financial difficulties. The company was founded in 2009 and had initially aimed to operate in the former premises of a snowboard factory in F├╝rnitz. However, due to the pandemic and its consequences, retail sales figures fell short and resulted in over-indebtedness. Bankruptcy proceedings have been opened at the Klagenfurt Regional Court, with liabilities amounting to 2.274 million euros.

Despite these challenges, Antero GmbH has recently downsized from 15 employees to just three. The company’s online platform offers individual snowboards, winter sports items, textiles, a community, entertainment features, and current information for fans of the board sports scene. Additionally, Antero GmbH aims to provide individual small series for special occasions through its offerings.

The debtor intends to continue operations with the goal of making the best possible use of existing raw materials and clarifying whether the financial and organizational requirements for a restructuring plan application can be met. Antero GmbH is owned by Apricum GmbH and has accrued an accumulated loss of 854,000 euros in the 2022 financial year with negative equity of 489,000 euros. Around 600,000 euros in liabilities relate to profit participation rights.
