Darts Icon Phil Taylor Bids Farewell to Competitive Play at World Senior Darts Tour in 2024
The World Senior Darts Tour is set to see the retirement of one of its greatest legends, Phil Taylor, in 2024. The 16-time world champion had initially retired from the sport in 2018 but returned to competitive darts last year after making the final of the PDC World Championship.
Taylor, known as ‘the Power’, expressed his love for performing and the journey he has had over the past 35 years. He stated that it’s time to step away from the tour and continue working hard to give fans what they want. Taylor aims to go out on a high in his final year on tour, which will consist of 11 events including the World Senior Darts Championship at Circus Tavern in February.
Billy Lovell of World Senior Darts Tour praised Taylor as one of UK’s greatest sportspeople and expressed gratitude for his decision to come out of retirement at the beginning of their project. Lovell also highlighted that their team has had a lot of fun with Taylor and anticipated that his final year on tour would be enjoyable.
