Commanders ink deal with linebacker Mykal Walker

Commanders Make Significant Addition to Defense with Return of Former Linebacker Mykal Walker

The Commanders have kicked off their offseason program by adding a familiar face to their lineup, linebacker Mykal Walker. The announcement was made on Tuesday that Walker has signed with the franchise. During his first three seasons with the Falcons as a fourth-round pick in 2020, under Dan Quinn’s tenure as head coach, Walker appeared in 49 games with 20 starts before being waived by Atlanta last August.

After stints with Chicago and Las Vegas, Walker signed with Pittsburgh midway through the 2023 season. During his time with the Steelers, he appeared in eight games with five starts, tallying 33 total tackles with two for loss. Additionally, Walker showcased his versatility by recording two passes defended and an interception.

Walker brings valuable experience and skills to the Commanders as they prepare for the upcoming season. His familiarity with Coach Quinn should help him acclimate quickly to the team. With his addition to the roster, the Commanders look set to strengthen their defense and compete for a championship next year.
