UMD Bulldogs “ALLETE” Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C’s: Classroom, Competition, Community.

The NSIC All-Sports Standings have been calculated following the 2022-23 academic year and the Bulldogs finished third overall. The UMD men’s teams finished in sixth place, while the UMD women’s teams finished in fourth. This is the Bulldogs highest finish since winning five consecutive awards from 1999-2004.

Augustana earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All-Sports Award as spring sports concluded in early May. The Vikings earn the award for the seventh time since joining the league in 2008. The Vikings amassed 211.0 points to finish 1.67 points ahead of second place Minnesota State followed by Minnesota Duluth. Augustana, Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State and Winona State remain the only institutions to earn the award in its 20+ year history.

The NSIC All Sports Award is calculated by awarding the winner of each conference-sponsored championship points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level shall result in the totaling of points and equal distribution.

The NSIC All-Sports Champions will be presented at the NSIC Summer Kickoff in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in July.
