The battle for clear and transparent healthcare pricing in the United States

Breaking the Barrier of Health Care Price Transparency in America: Insights from NJ PBA Director Kevin Lyons and Other Guests

In America, the fight for transparent health care prices is gaining momentum. Congress, employers, and unions are pushing for change after only about 36% of hospitals comply with the law requiring them to post their prices online. This lack of transparency has led to calls for reform and a focus on this issue in today’s On Point program.

Guests on the show include Cynthia Fisher, founder and chairman of, Molly Smith, group vice president for public policy at the American Hospital Association, and Adam Beck, senior vice president for commercial employer and product policy at America’s Health Insurance Plans. Also featured are Kevin Lyons, director of member benefits for the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association, Zachary Bessler, a software engineer, and Jeff Millhollin, president and CEO of Pacific Steel & Recycling.

The program is scheduled to air on February 13th 2024 with audio available after broadcast.
