Blue Earth Area’s traveling Bucs girls tennis team dominated in the doubles bracket to secure a 5-2 victory over the River Valley Wildcats in a nonconference dual meet held in Sleepy Eye. The No. 1 doubles team of Carol Schrader and Ashlyn Klinkner secured a 6-4, 6-2 win over Erika Wells and Gabby Anderson. Lauren Survis and Mckinley Hanson also had a strong performance, defeating Jillian Mays and Anna Rossbach at second doubles with a score of 6-0, 7-6 (7-4). Additionally, Addison Prescher and Erin Prescher contributed to the Bucs’ success by defeating Emma Contreras-Ramirez and Chloe Okerman with a score of 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3 doubles position.

In singles play, Olivia Dutton and Grace Hanson each earned a point for the Bucs. Dutton emerged victorious with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Brissa Hernandez at the No. 2 spot, while Hanson claimed a hard-fought victory over Candela Pliego-Hernandez, winning in three sets with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. River Valley’s Taylor Berkner defeated Addison Armstrong in back-to-back 6-4 sets at first singles, while Kiera Lafferty secured a win for the Wildcats by defeating Abbey Lorenz with a score of 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).

Unfortunately, due to ongoing construction at their home facility in Blue Earth, the Bucs will likely have to continue playing away matches for the remainder of the season. Their next match is a Big South Conference dual meet against Waseca.
