Bayside Hosts First Soccer Tournament: Local News, Sports and Employment Updates.
The Hannahville Ice and Turf sports complex in Wells played host to Bayside Soccer’s inaugural soccer tournament on November 11th, featuring three divisions of play for 12U, 14U, and 16U. Teams from Iron Mountain’s 906 FC, Houghton FC, and Bayside Soccer and its affiliate Delta United Soccer Academy participated in the event.
“This is our first time hosting a tournament, and we look forward to having more in the spring and next fall,” said organizer Amy Blahnik. The goal was to create a fun and competitive tournament for players while raising funds for the high school team.
The games were played in a round-robin style, with three-on-three matches. The top two teams at the end of group play had a playoff for first place. 906 FC won the 12U group, Houghton FC Red won the 14U, and the 16U winners were from Bayside – Delta United Soccer Academy.
Bayside Soccer was established in 1996 to provide recreational soccer for the region, offering a great sports experience for families that focuses on player development, teamwork, and positive coaching.
