In the upcoming summer of 2025, Austin FC is in advanced negotiations with Major League Soccer (MLS) to host the MLS Game at Q2 Stadium. The team is close to finalizing legal contracts for the event and is eagerly anticipating welcoming fans back to the stadium for what promises to be an exciting match.
Unlike traditional North American all-star games, the MLS All-Star Game features the best of MLS competing against select players from an international club or another league. Austin FC, an expansion team founded in 2018, became the first major professional sports team in the Texas capital and began playing in the 2021 season. Despite making it to the Western Conference Final in 2022, they were defeated by LAFC with a score of 3-0.
The 2024 game will be hosted by the Columbus Crew at Lower.com Field, where the MLS All Stars will face off against the superstars of Liga MX on July 24. In recent years, Austin FC has proven itself to be a formidable opponent on both domestic and international stages. With a seating capacity of 20,738 at Q2 Stadium, fans can expect a thrilling match that will leave them on edge until the very end.
