Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan Discusses Security in South Caucasus with EU Officials

Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia’s Foreign Minister, met with Khert Jan Kupman, the European Commission’s General Director for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, in Brussels to discuss issues related to the security situation in the South Caucasus. The two officials exchanged ideas on addressing the medium and long-term needs of those displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and also discussed the possibilities of further promoting the “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by the Government of Armenia. In addition to these discussions, they also referred to a wide range of issues on the RA-EU bilateral agenda.

Later on, Ararat Mirzoyan traveled to Brussels to attend the 5th session of the RA-EU Partnership Council. The session, which will take place on February 13th, will involve participation from the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Vice President of the European Commission, Josep Borel. The High Representative of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy is also expected to be present at this event. The agenda for this session includes discussions on implementing provisions from the RA-EU Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement as well as updates on security concerns in South Caucasus and regional matters.
