Linda Sinrod, of Lorton, Virginia, a former college figure skater who plays in a women’s ice hockey league there, got a nod from the reference book Friday.
“I’ve normally been the oldest individual playing so have normally been curious as to how old the oldest female hockey player was and sooner or later as I got to be 80, I checked Guinness Planet Records to see how old the oldest was,” she told the record book.
The octogenarian was in her late 30s when she helped discovered the initially women’s ice hockey group in the Washington, DC region, exactly where she played for ten years — until she decided it was time to hang up her skates.
On the other hand, at age 67, she returned to the sport and played on an additional group till she turned 75 simply because they asked her to leave.
