2,000 Strong: Columbus Community Takes a Stand for Children’s Mental Health at 5K Event

Nearly 2,000 people gathered in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday for the On Our Sleeves 5K event, an ideal weather day for a run that was aimed at raising awareness and breaking stigmas surrounding children’s mental health. The race took place at the Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field and was a community run and walk organized by the foundation to fundraise for free mental health resources through On Our Sleeves.

The funds raised from the event will help provide essential mental health resources to children in need. It is crucial to continue discussing mental health issues and breaking down the stigmas associated with it as emphasized by Whitney Raglin Bignall, the associate clinical director for Nationwide Children’s Hospital. By raising awareness and funds, individuals can come together to support this cause and help make a difference in the lives of children struggling with mental health issues.

Since its launch in 2018, over 6 million individuals across the United States have benefited from the free pediatric mental health education resources offered by On Our Sleeves. To learn more about this organization and how you can get involved, visit their website today.
